Everyone has a story to tell of their lived experience and when we are held in a space which meets our need to feel safe and be heard without judgement, we can begin to tell those stories.
My role is as travelling companion, supporting you to discover and rediscover strengths, new ways of seeing and of understanding. New maps may be drawn, old ones may be revised. My work is to support you to live with a greater sense of awareness and wellbeing.
As an integrative counsellor I use various therapeutic approaches to support clients to feel more fulfilled in life and in their relationships with others.
Central to the work of counselling and psychotherapy is the relationship between therapist and client. Therefore, please email me if you would like to book an initial complementary session to see if you feel comfortable and happy to start our work together.
Sessions are held in Totnes and in Newton Abbot or Torquay by arrangement.

Sometimes it can feel like an enormous step to reach out and ask for support. Be reassured that you will be met with warmth, empathy, respect and a heartfelt desire to hear, see and understand your story.
Perhaps you feel hurt, frightened, anxious, depressed and find it hard to manage overwhelming emotions.
May be you find relating to others difficult. Perhaps you would like support to understand or respond to challenging, threatening or painful relationship.
Before training in counselling, I spent many years as a teacher of 3-19 year olds in mainstream and special education, both in London, and when I returned to Devon in the 1990s. I have worked with adults and young people of varying ages, engaging in long or short term therapeutic work to suit individual needs.
Therapy, like life, is a journey across varied terrains. My own extensive, mixed-terrain story over six decades continues to deepen my compassion and my empathy. It is always an immense privilege to see the process of therapy support profound, positive shifts in people’s lives.
